Larry Vanderbilt is a servant-leader with deep roots in Memphis, Tennessee, where values like faith, family, and community shaped his commitment to uplift and unite others. A proud husband for the past 22 years and father of two young men, Larry draws strength from his family and carries their support with him in every role he takes on.
An alumnus of Tennessee State University, Larry has built a respected career as an entrepreneur and serial business owner, where he is known for his integrity, strategic insight, and people-first approach. His work consistently centers on helping others grow—whether mentoring young leaders, building strong teams, or driving results with compassion and clarity.
A dedicated Brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Larry’s service to the fraternity spans more than 15 years and demonstrates his unwavering belief in the power of Brotherhood. Through chapter leadership, districtwide collaboration, and member engagement, he has earned the trust of Brothers by showing up, following through, and leading with purpose.
Now, as a candidate for District Director of Tennessee, Larry continues to focus on what matters most: communication, strengthening relationships, building trust, and ensuring every Brother feels seen, heard, and supported. His campaign theme, “Uniting the Bond,” is not just a slogan—it’s a call to bring Brothers together across chapters and generations to move the Tennessee District forward, together.
